Lwati Training Institute, a privately owned firm, has developed a large and diverse client base in both the training and consulting fields since its inception in 1989.

Lwati offers a comprehensive range of courses for middle and senior managers, as well as for supervisory level staff through its public training programmes, and also provides specific training for individual organisations which may be carried out at the client’s premises or at an outside venue.

A syllabus and structure is developed to suit a client’s specific needs, following assessment by the Managing Director or a Senior Consultant specializing in the relevant subject. The modular courses are tailored to meet the requirements of a single client or group, with emphasis on action learning and evaluation of the effectiveness of the training.

Lwati consultants are qualified in such subjects as Corporate Governance, General Management, Finance, Taxation, Marketing, Purchasing and Stores, Industrial Relations, Labour Legislation, Human Resources and Public Relations. Self-Development Programmes, including Assertiveness Training, Counseling Skills, Stress Management and Customer Care are also available and new courses are added to the syllabus as the need arises.

Lwati Training Institute is proud to announce that it has been registered as both an Examinations and Training Centre with the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry Examinations Board.

The company has networked with other international consultants in organisational restructuring exercises and, where the need has arisen, developed a positive outlook to employment skills training, and retraining in new skills for future employment and self-employment.

There is a placement service for Middle and Senior Managers as well as expertise and
backup service for clients wishing to run seminars and conferences. Lwati personnel are also available for mediation and facilitation services in both industrial relations disputes, major seminars and conferences.
FACILITATORS

It is our belief that training is successful and sustainable when it is organisation-oriented and proactive: the training need must not be generated by a problem but by a clear vision of its role within a long-term plan. The value of training is enhanced when what is learned is implemented in the workplace and its effectiveness monitored: "learning by doing" and self-development are key elements within our training policy.

Thus Lwati’s objective is to ensure that methodologies are appropriate to the prevailing needs of the client organisation and of the personnel to be trained.

Each of our diverse courses, be they public or for individual organisations (in-house), are made up of self-contained modules which can be modified according to prevailing requirements. They are also interchangeable, enabling us to create new courses as the need arises.

Lwati maintains an up-to-date Video Library on most of the subjects/modules in our training programmes.

MARTIN P. FORSYTH-THOMPSON
B.Soc.Sc, M.P.A., Managing Director of Lwati Training Institute, has had extensive experience in senior management positions in both the public and private sectors. Since 1989 he continues to co-ordinate and conduct successful management courses as well as management consultancy services.

ERNEST D. HLOPHE

D.P.T.T., M.I.P.M., I.R.M. (Wits), Industrial Relations Senior Consultant. He has conducted Industrial Relations Training for various companies in Swaziland. He has also conducted public training courses in Industrial Relations, Customer Care for Business and Management Development.
