Objectives
Each year more and more information is generated by organisations, most of which has to be stored. As day-to-day management and decision making is based upon the available stored information, storage and retrieval of filed data is essential. Personnel must have access to the information they require and be able to retrieve it quickly and efficiently for effective management to exist. Records Management therefore, is an integral part of every efficient office.

Describe the purpose of records and records control
Explain the various processes and systems of record management
Sort, identify, index and store information
Keep track of records of information removed from files making cross-references
